Birdhouses

Colorful Little Birdhouses

What fun  -  I got to paint them twice.  Once to really, you know, paint them, and then illustrate them in my sketchbook.  They were a dollar apiece.  That's pretty cheap entertainment. And see, they gave me something to blog about to make up for the previous post's glass of water.
.
I may put them on the fence  -  maybe the side of the garage  -  or maybe plant them in the garden on a stake.  Maybe that's a little tacky, but .  .  .

It's raining again and in the 40s.  I am craving sunshine and color!!!  I keep plugging away at my to-do list, getting ready for summer, and those birdhouses were actually on my to-do list.  I have a fun list, don't I?

Thanks marj. They gave me lift on a rainy day too. They were fun to paint.

Oma - What is it about birdhouses? They are such fun.

The greenhouse near my home has brightly colored watering cans filled with perennials. One watering can is green with yellow polka-dots. I took a photograph, came home and painted the scene with watercolors.

Your bird houses are colorful and neat.

Perfect timing! Jim and I were just talking about making a "non-lawn" area at the cabin. We'll mulch and put in the very few plants (picky and ugly usually)that the deer won't eat. We need color! Colorful birdhouses on stakes will be perfect! And a little bench to sit on to look at our creation and the inhabitants of these houses. Thank you for the idea!

Marilyn-Lara - those watering cans sound wonderful! A little extra color in the garden is always fun.

Marpia - glad I could help :) The deer better not eat the birdhouses, but I wouldn't put it past them.

Thanks Annie!

Oh!...if only "our bird" would have had such a choice! She had nothing, so she built a nest on the top part of the wind chime! Eggs hatched, birds grew fine, and one day they all flew away.
Your bird houses are all so pretty and bright. Love 'em.
Still a'drawing!...BJR
