Trillium

I am playing around with some trillium sketches and paintings.

I'm just doing some very small experiments. The one on the left is done with watercolor on Yupo. Yupo is a plastic "paper" - it's not really paper at all. I don't do well with it - it looks as if I am painting on PLASTIC. The middle one is prismacolor pencils on Bogus rough sketch paper. I like the look, but I don't think Bogus is acid free, so it isn't what I would consider a "keeper". However it is in a sketchbook and I will keep it as long as it will keep. The third one is done with gouache on coffee stained Indian Village paper. Of course, this is also acidic with the addition of the coffee.
So what have I accomplished? To be continued - I have groceries melting on the kitchen counter.

Hi,
I have tried yupo also and did not like it either. The paint just slides around. Also bought a few tubes a Guache and have been playing with that. It's ok, but I like the look of watercolor better. I think the colored pencil piece you did is soft and pretty.

Hi Catherine,

One of the members of my Paint Group has a cottage in Petosky. She gave me your book as a gift and I was so enthralled with it that she invited all of us to stay at her cottage while we take your Watercolor Sketchbook class in June! I am very much looking forward to it.

Another Paint Group member just found your blog and I've been looking at your lovely sketches and paintings. Your work is inspiring, but you also sound like such a nice person...(and busy) I can't wait to meet you and learn from you!

Thanks for "putting yourself out there" and sharing yourself and your work.

Can't wait for our class!
